After the usual acknowledgements and toasts led by Club President, Ivano, he passed the podium over to Harvey Lee; to MC for the evening. As dinner was foremost of most people’s minds, Harvey’s table went first to the buffet, followed by the club president’s table. This transgression was noted for future retribution by club sergeant at arms at a future meeting.

GOLF TOURNAMENT REPORT: After a dinner befitting the members and guests of the Vancouver Skål Club, Harvey started the proceedings acknowledging the Golf Tournament participants & awards:

 Mens low gross: Dann Koller (repeat champion: challenged Ron Waterhouse to return to real golf so he would have some competition)
 Womens low gross: Not awarded. (No Skål women members entered in Callaway, and Nancy Stibbard was unavailable to participate this year)
 Mens low net: Gary Gumley
 Womens low net: Sue Kaffka (knows Nancy Stibbard)
 Scramble winners; Ron Waterhouse, Marcel Dompierre, Rick Dean, Len Zurkowski
 (Ron Waterhouse repeats as captain of scramble championship team .........hmmm)
 Mens KP: Rick Dean
 Womens KP: Emilia Saunders
 Open KP: Don Manning
 Mens long drive: Herb Jamison
 Womens long drive: Sue Kaffka (noted that she works with Nancy Stibbard)
 Straightest drive: Dann Koller
 Putting: Nancy Stibbard (Nancy was now available to play golf; won the club trophy & half the $ 95.00 pot)

FISHING TOURNAMENT - MC Harvey Lee asked Fishing Committee chair; Jack Miles to report on the achievements of the 14 members and guests who braved the high seas and the low fish count. While no fish were again caught by the group, all on board passed the time doing crossword puzzles and had a tremendous time.

Awards were as follows: Biggest Fish & First Fish: Club President; Ivano Corazza was noted to have the biggest bait on his line..............so he was awarded the Club fishing award.

Winners of Skål Fishing Derby - Fishing Trophy - Ivano!!!!!

Bottle of Scotch - Doug Robertson / Bottle of Wine - Ivano!!!!!

Bottle of Wine - Don Swaile / Bath Salts - Claire Rottare

Brown's Social House Gift Certificate - Ole Pii / Whitecaps Tickets - Lydia Miller

WINE DRAW - Thanks to Doug McCandless (works with Nancy Stibbard), the club wine draw was a tremendous success. Ten contestants were chosen and had to decide to share the 46 bottles of wine. As a testament to the character and generosity of each, they declined to share until the last two contestants were standing, and upon doing the math decided to take 23 bottles each.

2010/2011 CLUB GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE DRAW - Trip for two to Skål International Congress in Finland in September; includes congress registration, airfare for two, and hotel accommodation, OR club member could accept $2000.00 if not able to attend.

Since September 2010, the club drew 30 contestants over the past ten meetings to have a chance at the Grand Prize Draw. Each contestant drew a card out of the deck, and whoever picked the Joker won the raffle. We are pleased to announce that James Chase was the winner, and owes a case or two to Mr. Gerry Barteluk for standing in for him for the raffle as Mr. Chase had somewhere more important to be.

SILENT AUCTION - Committee met three times over a few months to organize the auction. Special thanks go to
Past president; Gordon Chatry, and with the excellent organization skills of Pamela Chatry; the auction was a great success raising over $8000.00 this year. Appreciation as well goes to Pamela’s crew of Gordon, Marg Fletcher and Gail Spurgeon. The auction tables were set up, items displayed, and all purchasers were checked out, monies collected and items collected in record time. Well Done!!!
