• Winner to be drawn at our Christmas Luncheon in December.

Other winners in our raffle were: Randy Vannatter, winning a 25.00 GC at the Cactus Club. $100.00 cash was won by regular guest Karen Goucher, who advised Coach she will be donating a portion to the Florimond Volckaert fund. Thanks Karen and Herb.

Darci Galati was introduced to the membership by David McCaig. Darci and Sue Urie have recently been on the cover of Travel Courier (May 15). The cover story is about CANDi for Cats and Dogs International, which helps in reversing the plight of abandoned and abused domestic animals in the world’s hotspots.

President Brian presented Visiting Skal members Pete Linter (President NY) and David Batey (London, ON) with our Club banners. Vancouver received the NY and London banners in exchange


Bill spoke on the Fishing Derby for the non-golfers; we are filling up so please register with Bill
Bill also spoke on the Tourism award for 2008. Nomination forms are located on our website at www.vancouverskal.org 

Richard Carlin had the pleasure of introducing our latest member Gordon Andrews. Welcome aboard Gordon.

Lolita Cofman thanked Nick, Rose, and all the staff at the restaurant for an amazing dinner. The appetizer platter consisting of: Homous, Tzatziki, Calamari, Spinach Pie, and Dolmathes. Next on the list was Greek Salad. Our main course was some of the tenderest Roast lamb I have ever eaten, accompanied by rice pilaf and roast potato. Tiramisu was served for dessert, as was coffee and tea.

Entertainment for the evening was a lovely belly dancer, who was able to get Bill Rowe, Brian Veitch (in his chain), Greg Condon (nice moves buddy), NY President Peter Lintner, and Karen Goucher up to try it out. The guys should not give up their day jobs. Well done everyone. Pictures can be found on the website www.vancouverskal.org  and will also be included in the monthly newsletter.
